The Dukes of Biohazard

They are now calling the outbreak of the West Nile virus a city and county epidemic. Great! Starting tomorrow night through Monday, a plane will be flying over our house dropping greasy pesticide. We have to turn off our air conditioners and cover outdoor play equipment. I would have to buy 5 giant tarps to cover my kids play structure! (That said, I'm not against the spraying since I would prefer that no one in my family get bit by a mosquito and catch West Nile)

It has been somewhat unsettling to go outside every day and see dead birds strewn about the yard and street. Our highest was eleven magpies in one day, just in our yard. Isn't that one of the signs of the Apocalypse? Plague? That reminds me of that freaky scene in Magnolia with Tom Cruise where it starts raining bullfrogs. That would suck.

In other news, my 11 and 6 year old have become addicted to that toontown online game. I think they would play ALL day if I let them. I have played it, and it is addictive but its a good natured fun family type game. (And yes, its Disney)

I have been watching this new show called "Dirty Jobs" on the Discovery channel. I don't remember the last time I have come so close to vomiting whilst watching television. The host Mike Rowe is hilarious and his voice is dreamy. There is this crazy person that I am occasionally forced to see on a message board I am a member of that I predict at some point will claim relation to him. (because, she's crazy of course) She's one of those that posts empathy pleas when the cousin to her neighbor's late aunt's son's ex-girlfriend's foster cat died. Oh, poor you!

My husband is making chocolate chip cookies in the kitchen. Mmmmmm life is good.

I turned on "Dirty Jobs" the other night just in time to see your good pal Mike Rowe (or whatever his name is) artificially inseminating a sow. More than I EVER needed to see on television. The farmer was telling him "Be sure to clean her vulva - get as much dirt off of there as you can!". *Shudder*
